I am so over sticky hot weather. The incessant, neverending sweating. The inescapable, stifling air.

Barf. I'm over it. Done! Who is with me?

I'm ready for crisp air, gorgeous tree displays and hot drinks. I brought my softest, fleeciest blanket. Bring your best chicken stew. We are in this, people!

What is October bringing for you, sweet crumbs? For me, its bringing all my holy 're-' words. You know - REstore, REfocus, REvisit. I'm talking about my goals of course! Some more specific things that will blow in with the wind:

  1. Saying no to diets but yes to more vegetables. I can practically hear my nutrition prof patting my back for this one. Thanksgiving is arguably one of the best holidays ever - stuffing, pecan pie, the inevitable family contention over roast turkey or roast chicken. The wild week-long turkey bender that comes with taking responsibility for all leftovers. I can already feel my rings getting tighter and my brain getting fuzzier. But my schloopy self hath determined that I am going to enjoy every minute of it with gusto. And you know what? After I've enjoyed that feast we will get back to it. Plant-based meals, lots of fruits and veggies, exercising regularly. Just because you do one, doesn't mean you can't have the other. It's called ~balance~. 

  2. More blog posts. Once upon a time, seventeen-year-old Fay discovered food blogs. And I read them religiously. Normal teens procrastinate with the likes of bush parties or YouTube, but there I was figuring out how to blind bake a pie crust. Long before I started word vomiting on the Internet, I absorbed the word vomit of others. Now I want to craft a beautiful blog of my own, and feed it to you all as lovingly as a mama bird to her birdlets.
I bet I am the only food blogger who has managed to mention throwing up twice (thrice now!) in a single post. Off to a great start, aren't we!
